The online bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice is designed to provide a multidimensional framework in law enforcement, criminal law, corrections, the criminal court system and private security that will allow successful students to select from a wide range of employment opportunities upon completion. The curriculum includes course work in those areas, along with courses designed to hone computer skills for technical expertise in the 21st century justice system.

While additional police academy training may be necessary for law enforcement positions, the Criminal Justice bachelor's degree program from Virginia College will help you prepare for a variety of criminal justice positions including courtroom administrator, private security officer, probation or parole officer, juvenile delinquency case manager, corrections officer and more.

Upon graduation from this program, students should be able to:

  • Identify the effects of substantive and procedural law on individuals within the criminal justice system
