With its continued growth, Virginia College's Birmingham campus has announced a series of promotions within its management staff to assure the best possible student experience. Campus President Jo Ann Wilson says, "We are pleased that we are able to attract such talent to our school, and that we can capitalize on the company's growth by promoting from within."
Vincent Femia, who has been the school's Director of Admissions, has accepted the position of Vice-President of Operations at the
Pensacola, Florida,
Virginia College campus. Prior to that, he was the Director of Admissions at Virginia College in
Mobile, Alabama, and previously worked as Associate Director of Admissions for Gibbs College in Livingston, New Jersey and as a High School Admissions Associate at Lincoln Tech in Union, New Jersey. Vincent holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Seton Hall University.
Lyn Cross has accepted the Director of Admissions position left vacant by Femia's promotion. Cross has been serving as Director of Financial Planning (dealing with student financial aid) at the
Birmingham campus since July 2008. He has extensive experience in marketing and the mortgage and banking industries and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Alabama.
To continue Cross's momentum in the Financial Planning department,
Janice Ivory has accepted the Director of Financial Planning position at
Virginia College in Birmingham. Ivory holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a Minor in Accounting and a Master of Public Administration with a concentration in Human Resources from the University of Arkansas. Most recently, she served as the Corporate Director of Financial Planning Operations with
Education Corporation of America, the parent company of Virginia College, and also located in
Birmingham, Alabama. Prior to that position, she was Director of Financial Planning with Virginia College at
Austin, Texas, Director of Financial Aid with Remington College in Memphis, Tennessee and Little Rock, Arkansas, Accounting Manager with Cingular Wireless in El Paso, Texas, and Human Resources Manager with Cingular Wireless and BHC Pinnacle Pointe Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
