Culinard Hosts State High School Culinary Competition

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-- Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, will host the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Culinary STAR competition for ten high school teams on Saturday, April 17, 2010. Culinary students from throughout the state of Alabama will compete to be Alabama's top team at Culinard's newly completed campus located at 488 Palisades Boulevard.
"Culinard is honored to host the FCCLA competition each year," says Chef Antony Osborne, Academic Dean of Culinard. "We are especially excited to reveal our new state-of-the-art campus and teaching kitchens, which were just completed and opened for use by our students on Monday."
This year, Culinard will celebrate 10 years of preparing students for the fast-paced culinary world. The school's nearly 1,000 graduates have been placed in restaurants and kitchens throughout the world. Culinard students benefit from an accredited 36-week culinary arts immersion program designed to help students reach their culinary dreams quickly. The American Culinary Federation has recognized Culinard annually as an exemplary program.
