Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in Richmond, Va., won first-place honors at a recent food fair that raised money for the Richmond area Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.

Over 30,000 people attended the fifth-annual Broad Appetit which featured 75 restaurants competing for various grand prizes. Culinard's win in the "To Diet For" Dessert division, sponsored by Richmond Magazine, trumped its second-place finish last year.

The winning dish? A Blueberry Sorbet with Crystallized Ginger Cake and Yuzu Foam. Yum!
