ECA Vendor Runs Again in Memory of Gilmore

Posted: Monday, February 15, 2010

The Sprint representative who works with Education Corporation of America on the company's wireless needs has continued to honor the late Clyde Gilmore by running in his memory at area races. Here, Gene Darden shows the medal he received for participation in the Mercedes Half Marathon as well as the poster he carries with him in these races. The event was held the weekend of February 14 in Birmingham. Gilmore, who worked in the ECA corporate offices, lost his battle with cancer late last year.

Darden has also arranged for all ECA employees and students at ECA-owned schools--Virginia College, Culinard, Golf Academy of America--to receive discounts on equipment and services. To learn more about the discounts, staff should visit www.sprint.com/virginiacollegeemployees. Students may click on www.sprint.com/ecastudents. A portion of the proceeds from the discounted sales is returned to the schools as part of a scholarship fund.
