Virginia College In Greenville to Showcase Facilities and Career Programs with Ribbon Cutting and Open House

Posted: Wednesday, April 1, 2009

The new Virginia College in Greenville will hold an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, April 30 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. to showcase new facilities and career programs. The ribbon cutting will take place at 6:00 p.m. The school, which provides students with skills training specific to businesses in Greenville and surrounding areas, is located at 78 Global Drive in part of the former Carolina Circuits location that now houses the Global Trade Park.

"We are eager to put our new campus and career center on display to the community," says Paul Wright, president of Virginia College in Greenville, "and we are proud to be a local source of well-trained and skilled employees who will boost the local economy in the Upstate area."

In attendance of the open house and ribbon cutting event will be local business owners, city officials, community members and chamber of commerce representatives. Virginia College student ambassadors will be on-hand to provide tours of the career center, which represents more than a $2 million remodeling investment. Guests will have the opportunity to view classrooms and labs while enjoying hors d' oeuvres and cocktails from Flat Rock Grille.

Virginia College expects to graduate over 200 students each year in fields such as pharmacy technology, surgical technology, medical programming, cosmetology, therapeutic massage and more. The college employs over 100 instructors and administrators. For more information about Virginia College in Greenville call 864-679-4900 or visit www.vc.edu/greenville.
