Winner Named in High School Culinary Competition at Culinard

High school culinary teams from all over the state of Alabama recently participated in the Family Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Culinary STAR competition, held at the beautiful new teaching kitchens at Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College in Birmingham. The Bob Jones High School team from Huntsville (in photo with red hats) was the winner. Schools participating were:

Florence High School
Hewitt-Trussville High School
Huntsville Center for Technology
Limestone County Area Vocational School
Madison County Career Academy
McAdory High School
Murphy High School
Wenonah High School

The teams were required to prepare a clam chowder, Asian beef stir fry with rice, and a strawberry mille-feuille. Judges for the event were:

Scott Jones -- Southern Living magazine
