Virginia College in Huntsville recently inducted six graduating seniors into the Alpha Beta Kappa national honor society.
Left to right in photo are Jessica Wilson, Marjorie Pflanczer, Frances Starnes, Daniel Fox, Jr., Bobby Hall and Tara Martin.
Membership in the society is based on excellent attendance, an overall GPA of 3.75 or higher, and other criteria. Inductees were presented with a blue and red cord to be worn at graduation, an Alpha Beta Kappa Honorary gold key and red carnations, the official flower of the society. Inductees' names and a group photo are on display in the school lobby.
Also in the Rocket City, Virginia College Student Ambassadors took time out from studies recently to volunteer at The Rose of Sharon Soup Kitchen and Thrift Store. They sorted clothing, organized donations, and performed other duties. Ambassadors president Lee Ann Bradford said, "I know for all of us it was a very rewarding experience and we look forward to giving back to our community through volunteer efforts in the future."
