Military Student Center Can Do!

Cans of food were everywhere. People built pyramids, towers and walls. Floor space was sparse. But Rick Tribble wasn't complaining. He knew that each can represented a future start by a military member at Virginia College, Golf Academy of America, or the Ecotech Institute!

Tribble, Director of the Military Student Center (MSC), and his staff advisors work side by side with admissions associates and financial planners throughout ECA to help enroll active duty military, veterans, military spouses and dependent military children.

The MSC management team wanted the staff to visualize how many students they were helping to recruit, so they provided one can of food for each military future start. At the end of the Summer Term enrollment period there were 454 cans of food to donate to a local church program for needy families ... and 454 military future starts!

The visual inspiration also helped them surpass another major milestone. "Working as part of a great ECA team," said Tribble, "we grew to over 2000 military students. That's about a 400% increase over the last 13 months and means military personnel now represent about 10% of our student population."

Great work, MSC!
