Virginia College Online Opens Tampa, Florida, Admissions/Student Services Facility

Virginia College Online, a major provider of educational opportunities via the Internet, recently opened a new facility in Tampa, Florida, to house admissions, student services, and financial aid personnel for the school. The new location is in addition to the college's new facility in Birmingham, Alabama, which opened in January.
"As we continue to grow, we need to have offices in several locations around the country in order to better serve our students," says Virginia College Online President Stan Banks. "Weather or infrastructure problems in one location might cause interruption in service, so we need the redundancy. Ours is a 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week operation, and we must always be available for our students. Rather than have all our people in one location, we now have two service centers, each in a different time zone."
The new Tampa location is in the Highland Oaks V office complex near I-75. Virginia College Online now leases about 34,000 square feet in one of the newer buildings in the park.
Banks added, "We chose to locate our Florida facility in the Tampa Bay area because several members of our management team have lived and worked there before. We know the quality of the available workforce there. We are excited about our new location. It is a key initiative in the growth of Virginia College Online as we expand to meet the needs of both our customer bases--our students and their eventual employers."
Among positions that have been added in Tampa are admissions associates, financial planning specialists, student services personnel, career services reps, and more. Banks indicated that the staff will eventually approach 300 at this location.
