Simpson Joins Education Corporation of America as Student Finance Compliance Director

Education Corporation of America, parent company of Virginia College, has announced that Vinita Simpson has joined the company as the new Director of Student Finance Compliance. In this role, Simpson will be responsible for managing the corporate and campus compliance function as it relates to all aspects of student finance, including Title IV, other governmental funding programs, and alternative funding. She will coordinate the activities of outside compliance auditors, including receiving and reviewing all compliance reports as well as work with campuses to resolve open issues. In coordination with the financial planning department, Simpson will identify and work to resolve compliance issues in student finance and create opportunities for training and improvement.
Simpson comes to ECA from Kaplan Higher Education Corporation in Atlanta, where she worked for the last 4-1/2 years in various roles, including Director of Standardization, Financial Aid/Campus Coordinator, and Senior Financial Aid Training and Accountability Specialist. Prior to joining Kaplan, she served in various campus-level positions in financial aid, including Director of Financial Aid at Sanford-Brown Institute and High-Tech Institute in Atlanta and Financial Aid Analyst at Alabama A&M University.
Simpson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration / Finance from Oakwood College and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Phoenix. She recently began work on her Doctor of Business Administration degree at Walden University.
