Posted: Monday, December 21, 2009
Miquelle Jones spends much of her time helping Virginia College students choose the proper online classes to complete their degrees. But in addition to her role as a Student Advisor, Miquelle has another creative outlet. She writes and performs spoken word poetry. And now she is about to get national recognition for her talent. She was recently interviewed by Bradley George, host of the National Public Radio program “Tapestry.”
The show also recorded a performance by Ms. Jones. The segment will air on NPR on New Year’s Day at noon Central Standard Time and again on Saturday, January 2 at 11 AM CST. (Locally in Birmingham, Alabama, the program airs on WBHM-FM 90.3. Other locations should check listings for the NPR affiliate in their areas.)
A podcast of the program will be available at: http://www.npr.org/rss/podcast/podcast_detail.php?siteId=4819606
On the program and podcast, Ms. Jones uses her professional nom de plume: Mimi Latoine
