Student Veterans Association Active at Virginia College Campuses
Posted: Wednesday, February 10, 2010
Several Virginia College campuses have newly-formed military veteran groups on their campuses. These groups are formed to allow students with military experience to join together to achieve common goals. For example, the Student Veterans Association at Virginia College in Huntsville, Alabama, publishes a brochure containing information about the group and items of interest to other students with a military background. Ed Linebaugh is retired from the U.S. Army and an instructor at the school and serves as director of the SVA Huntsville chapter.
The members also maintain contact with other veteran organizations and education representations at local military facilities to make sure its members and other veterans who are considering returning to school will have all the latest information in making their decisions.
Virginia College maintains a Military Student Center, staffed by experts in veteran educational benefits, and is available to anyone who has questions about using veteran benefits for school, whether or not they are considering Virginia College. The Center may be reached at 877-VC GI BILL and the website is www.vcmilitary.com.
