Golf Academy of America Student Graduates with Ace
Posted: Friday, April 3, 2009
The golf industry's premier golf college, the Golf Academy of America (GAA) proudly announces that Matt Picanso, a fourth-semester student at the GAA San Diego Campus, has already achieved what many golfers never see in a lifetime. He aced the Par 3, No. 6 Oaks hole at The Vineyard at Escondido, Calif. And he accomplished the feat with a pitching wedge playing at 152 yards.
Picanso is scheduled to graduate at the end of Spring 2009 semester.
"Everyone at GAA congratulates Matt on a fantastic achievement on the course and on his pending graduation," says Kevin Neisch, placement director for the Golf Academy of America San Diego Campus. "Matt has been a great student but acing a hole at The Vineyard gives an entirely new meaning to graduating with honors."
The Vineyard at Escondido's par-70 course is a David Rainville-designed course measuring 6,531 yards from the blue tees. The scenic layout winds through acres of verdant wetlands with stunning mountain backdrops. The Vineyard at Escondido is well-known for being highly unforgiving of errant shots and infinitely rewarding for good ones.
Offering a 16-month program of golf instruction and golf business management, the Golf Academy of America provides graduates with the education required to get the golf job they desire.
The Golf Academy of America leads the industry in golf education and features four campuses in major golf markets - Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego. The GAA was founded in 1974 and is today accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) which is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
