Virginia College Surgical Tech Student 'Helps Save' First Patient

Fernando Rengifo is a student in
Surgical Technology at
Virginia College in
Mobile, Alabama. He is currently doing his externship at Alabama Orthopaedic Clinic. During a recent procedure, he was assisting the surgical team when the clinic's supervisor snapped the photo reproduced here. The clinic proudly shared the photo with the school. Fernando sent the photo to his instructors and fellow students with the caption, "Yesterday...first life I helped save."
The clinic is very interested in offering Fernando a position as a surgical technician.
