Virginia College Participates in Medical Practice Managers' Conference

The Alabama MGMA recently held their annual statewide meeting in Birmingham, Alabama, at the Wynfrey Hotel with more than 260 medical practice managers and administrators in attendance, learning about the latest in healthcare management while attending seminars and breakout sessions. In addition, there were over 65 vendors in attendance with their latest innovations and services for these mangers. Included was Virginia College, participating in this conference for the first time. Attending from Virginia College were Jeff Reiner, Director, Healthcare Reimbursement Services (HRS), Lori Chambless , Manager-Account Services, HRS, Ray Dunsmore, Career Services, Dr. Kim Ogletree, Externship Administrator, Montgomery Campus, and Tiffany Bibb, Director-Career Services.
The objective was to let the practice managers know about the four great schools in Alabama and students in many healthcare-related fields looking for externships as well as jobs. In addition, the new Healthcare Reimbursement Services retail operation was promoted to the group. Thirty different practices expressed interest in extern and job placements and many requested more information about the new billing office (HRS). There was even a couple of opportunities for potential billing office partners.
